Cultures around the world have always
held a dialogue with sounds that links the physical, emotional and
spiritual world. In Tibetan philosophy, sound is to the body like
dreams are to the soul; it has the power to transform us. Sound
and musical instruments are an integral part of the rituals and
practices of Buddhist meditation as a way to silence the mind and
invoke the divine.

TIBETAN
SINGING BOWLS
Tibetan Singing Bowls vibrate the sound of the universe. The singing
bowl is essentially a heart-oriented experience. They can vibrate
five individual and simultaneous tones, each at its own consistent
frequency and can sustain these vibrations. It is believed that each
part of our body has a natural resonance that responds to different
sounds and their vibrations. Made of several metals, each holds a
unique gift in its tone. Sound has been used throughout history as
a way of balancing the inner and outer world. The highest lamas used
singing bowls to travel to other realms and dimensions. They are still
placed today as offerings on alters in monasteries and healers use
them today around the world to tone and balance energy fields. The
act of listening to the Sound of the singing bowls stops ones
internal dialogue; the intellectual centre is suspended and the feeling
centre is activated, thus making the bowls an excellent tool for meditation,
centreing and trance induction.
Singing Bowl sticks and Stands are available for an additional A$6
each. |
